One of Hero's aliases is that of 'Adrenalin Junkie' so whilst in New Zealand, the home of adventure sports, he went on a mission to find something very high to jump off. The normal bungee height is 45-50m. Having done 15 or more bungees jumping off in all sorts of different ways including into the sea, it had to be higher, much higher. Unfortunately New Zealand's highest bungee of 134m was on the south island and no north island bungees were higher than 50m. But then he stumbled across the Sky Jump, www.skyjump.co.nz. This is a controlled rapid descent from the Auckland Sky Tower from a whopping height of 192m! Whilst not true freefall like a bungee, there was still a big thrill to be had by throwing yourself off a platform at 630ft up from the tallest tower in the Southern Hemisphere! Fresh pants anyone? |
